Wedding Recaps - The Girls

So... Where did we leave off...
Oh that's right, we girls were enjoying a few drinks while it was sprinkling outside... :)
We finally decided we were going to run out of time if we didn't get something going, so rain and all we stepped outside to get started on the girls group shots.

Our first attempts were under ledges, inside on the stairs...
anywhere we wouldn't get soaked.
But as we went along... It let up... Then it stopped!
Hallelujah!!!

See! We're happy it stopped raining! :)

So in these first few pictures, I am wearing these heels.

But it had just come a good downpour, so needless to say, it was a little muddy...
My heels kept sinking into the mud! What's a girl to do?

See ya high heels! Hello zebra boots! :)
It took all the girls and my mom to help me out of my heels and into my socks and boots.
That dress! I tell you! haha! But much more comfy for sure!
And did I change back into heels before the ceremony, you ask?!?
Nope. And no one was the wiser. I was more comfortable and life was great! :)

Wedding Recaps - A Toast with the Girls

Once we were ready...
Almost ready to start the pre-ceremony wedding party photos...
And... It was raining outside. Really.

Hmm....
So what's a bride, her FUN bridesmaids, and awesome mother-of-the-bride to do while they wait for the rain to stop...
Or at least slow... haha.

Toasts all around!!!

Each girl gave a short, sweet toast with the grand toast finale from my mom. :)

This one was a personal photo, i.e not taken by our photographer.
A couple of Coors Lights later... Oh yes, yes we did. ;)
And the rain had slowed to just a slight drizzle!

Bridesmaid Tote Bags

To hold all the goodies for each of my bridesmaids and my hostess, I made each lovely lady a tote bag!

I think they were a fun way to personalize each girls' gift without breaking the bank on a plain ol' initial tote from one of those wedding websites!
And I made them myself! Gotta say, I think 'handmade with love' is always better! ;)

Visit my craft blog, Truly Lovely today for a tutorial on how I made the totes!

A SPECIAL thanks to Bethani of Cheers, Bethani
for the SUPER CUTE gift tags that are tied to each bag!!!

You can see she made the tags especially for me with the pink and turquoise colors of our wedding! Each is hand stamped with the words, "Handmade with Love".

On the back of each tag I wrote to each bridesmaid from Kassi.

They were the PERFECT extra little detail for each bridesmaid and hostess gift!
Thanks again Bethani!!!
Check out her fun Etsy Shop for more gift tags, place cards, cupcake tags and more!

Stay tuned for more wedding recaps!!!

A Night Out with My AZ Girls!!

On June 4th, Mr. M's best man put together a fun filled Saturday for the guys.
They went golfing during the afternoon then had an invitational team roping in his honor! :)
He says he had a really good time!

While they were doing their guy thing the girls decided to do our own thing! ;)
First we met for dinner and drinks.

Clockwise from me (the one in the crown... heehee) Kayce, Tammy, Brianne, Jackie, Mindy, Rhonda, Susie
Then bar hopping around our smallish Arizona town.
Since we technically just moved here, I had only been to one place.
But after that Saturday I added two more to my belt! :)

Dancing at Bar #1! :)
A HUGE thanks to all the lovely ladies that came and hung out, and had a BLAST!!!
It was the best time, because it was a group of "married-up" ladies that weren't worrying about guy chasing and what not and just enjoyed a complete GIRLS only night on the town!
If you haven't done one yet in your wedding get togethers...
Do one. Definitely! :)

Thanks to bridesmaid, Kayce, for providing me with a lovely Bachelorette crown and sash to wear for the night! :) We even got the band to sign my sash at Bar #1! :)

Rhonda, Mindy, Me, Kayce
AND thanks to Mindy for my AWESOME pink and zebra wine glass!
That we couldn't take with us, so failed to get into any pictures. But I LOVE IT! :)

I've said it before... But it won't hurt to say it again... I am TRULY blessed with some of the BEST women in my life. Men too... But the ladies are SO STINKIN' FUN! :)

P.S. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers over the Wallow Fire and our decision to postpone our wedding. So far we seem to have gotten the word out pretty well that it has been moved to July 9th. As of today the fire is 18% contained and that number is growing. SO please, prayers... don't cease! :)
Thank you!!!

Bridal Shower Recap - Lovely Ladies & Food

My first bridal shower was SO MUCH FUN!!!

It was hosted by my bridesmaid, Meghan Jo and sister-in-law, Brianne!
They set up tables and chairs on Meghan's front porch...
It was the nicest day to sit outside and enjoy the lovely afternoon!!!

I had the best time getting to see most of my bridesmaids and spend time with friends and family!

Kayli, Me, Meghan Jo, Charli and Megan
My maids, Charli and Megan came all the way from Cruces to be there!!!
Thanks ladies!!!
And EVERYONE was dressed SO cute!!!
There were more than a few mentions of stealing Charli's dress... ;)

My bridal shower hostesses did the BEST job!!!
Thank you to my bridesmaid, Meghan Jo and sister-in-law Brianne!!
As well as all the ladies that helped out by bringing food and what not!!!

My mom, me and MOH (and sister) Kayli
Speaking of food... CHECK OUT this food/dessert table!!
Meg made THREE types of cupcakes! Chocolate mint, margarita (with a salted rim even!) and pineapple upside down cake!! I LOVED all three... But in the end I think the pineapple upside down cake were my favorite... (I ate leftovers for breakfast for two days! ;)

There were sandwiches, chips and dip, a CHOCOLATE fountain with fruit and marshmallows to dip in! Veggie platters and dip, tortilla roll ups, an assortment of sweets!!!
It was all SO delicious!!

I only went back several a few times throughout the day for more goodies... ;)

SISTERS - Brianne, Kayli, Me, Arina and Stephanie
Little Miss Corryn (our neice and one of the flower girls) enjoyed herself too!!
Her favorite parts were the candy in the guest favors :) which where cute little boxes of candy that read, "Sweet Times - Kassi's Shower 4/30/2011"

And the water fountain on Meghan's porch! :)

Stay tuned for more recaps including games, gifts, hostess gifts and more!!
All coming up next week! :)

Meet My Maids - Charli

Last, but certainly not least, allow me to introduce my final maid!!

Meet my bridesmaid, Charli!!!

Charli - Photo taken by her aunt.

Miss Charli and I met during my Junior year of college, I believe.
She is the most recent lady of all my maids to become my good friend.
But I love her all the more for it! :)

Charli & Kassi - Christmas Party 2009
We met when she dated a friend of Mr. M's.
I remember the first time I saw her even.... We were going to some party at somebody's house and rode there with Mr. M's friend... As we were looking for somewhere to park...
This bubbly little blonde lovely came bounding up to the pickup! :)

Kassi and Charli - South Point, Las Vegas Nevada 2009
Miss Charli!

Since that time, we have gone through lots!!! Let's just say that our guys, Mr. M and her's at the time, are a lot alike... and chose to stick together, like college boys do...
So Charli and I spent alot of time venting to each other! haha

Kassi & Charli - Summer 2010 (Yes, that's a Bud Light in the picture... Don't judge... haha)
We were roommates while I finished my last semester of graduate school and had THE BEST time!!! We had Arbor Mist Wednesdays.... Holiday parties, and over all just lots of fun times!
Our little doggies are even best friends!!!

Penny and Pandy in the back (mine) and Daisy in front (Charli's)
So glad we're besties and even more glad she'll be there with us for our special day and all the days before and after!! :)

P.S. TODAY IS 2 MONTHS til the BIG day!!! Stay tuned for my 2 Month update post in a day or so! :)

Meet My Maids - Megan

Remember I said I have TWO Meg's in the wedding party??

Well...

Meet My Bridesmaid Megan!!!

Me and Megan - Another friend's wedding May 2010
Not to be confused with Meghan Jo.
Megan and I technically knew each other our freshman year of college.
But we didn't really become friends until NAMA (late in our sophomore year)!!!
That's right... ANOTHER college friend.
But really... I think some of your best friends are made in college.
Mine were. Obviously. :)

Kassi and Megan 2008
We were both in the Ag college at the time, and members of the club.
If memory serves me right, we became really good friends over the NAMA National competition in Dallas, Texas.
We had the BEST time putting together goodie bags for the other schools.

Kassi and Megan - Christmas Party 2009
Megan is one of the SWEETEST people that I know.
And she has gone out of her way, ever since I've known her to befriend and include Mr. M as well. During one of the hardest times in our life, the loss of a VERY CLOSE loved one, she drove 3.5 hours to bring a package of bottled water and cookies to us...
And just visit for awhile.

Megan's family are also some of the nicest people I know.
Her sister Sara is also a very good friend!!!
And Meg is good friends with my family as well! She's been to my hometime on a couple of occasions, and fits right in with our crazyness!! :)

Kassi and Megan - Sara's Bachelorette Party September 2009

Meg is one of those people that you won't talk to for weeks, then all the sudden pick up the phone and carry on as if no time has passed!!!

Megan, me and my family at my Granny's 89th Birthday Party
I love this lady lots!!! And I'm so glad, that she is a part of my and Mr. M's life and our wedding day!!

Meet My Maids - Kayce

So I know I'm a day late with this one...
But things have been crazy busy around here...

I've got some exciting news to share with you soon... But today is about Miss Kayce!

Meet My Bridesmaid, Kayce!!!

Kayce and I at Kayce's Birthday Dinner 2011
Kayce and I also met my freshman year of college... Or was it sophomore year?
Either way, it was a little after Meghan and a little before the other Megan... haha.

Me, Kayce and our friend Lindsey my Sophomore year of college
We had LOTS of fun in college!!! And we STILL have LOTS of fun all the time!
You see... To make a LONG story as short as possible...
I met Kayce through a friend, and we became really good friends, quickly...
Then... Mr. M's best friend came down one weekend to meet another friend of ours, and it just so happened he met Kayce first... They HATED each other...

Mr. M, Me, Mr. P (Kayce's guy and Mr. M's best man), and Kayce - South Padre Island 2010
Until they didn't anymore... haha. And the rest is history!!!
Mr. M and I like to take the credit... Even though it was mostly an accident... haha!

Mr. P and Kayce are our go to couple! We do almost everything with them! :)
When we move into our new house, we'll finally be in the same town again.
Let's just say the guys are REALLY looking forward to it!
But so are we!

Because, like I said, we ALWAYS have fun!!!

Meet My Maids - Meghan Jo

I would LOVE to introduce you to my bridesmaid, Meghan Jo!!

Meghan at her bridal shower
She's the third bridesmaid to be introduced in my Meet My Maids Series!!
I met Meghan Jo our freshman year in college!
(We use the Jo, her middle name, to differentiate between her and other bridesmaid, Megan)

She grew up in the same town as Mr. M.
They were in the same class and came to college at the same time.
So... technically Mr. M is the reason for me meeting my bestie Meghan Jo!
(Gotta give him some credit...)

We became college roommates our Sophomore year of college and had a BLAST!!!
Really... Maybe TOO much fun sometimes... haha...

Our friend, Deidra, Me and Meg at the Thunder From Down Under in Las Vegas 2008 :)
Meghan Jo married Kenny (one of Mr. M's groomsmen) in 2007 (? I think... oops) and I was her maid of honor!!! It was a PLEASURE!! Again, we had SO much fun!
But we ALWAYS have fun... ;)

Me, handing Meg her bouquet on her wedding day... BEAUTIFUL bride, right?!?
Now, Meghan and Kenny live right down the road from us (until we move to our new house) and are some of our BEST friends!!! We go over for poker nights, birthday parties (Meg throws an awesome dinner party!!) and just enjoy hanging out!

Meghan was even my first recruit after I started selling Scentsy!!!

Me and Meg at the Scentsy Spring Sprint Event in Phoenix, AZ
February 2011
LOVE this lady!! MUCH!! And I am so thrilled that she is a HUGE part of my life and that her and her hubs are going to be a part of our big day!!

Meet My Maids - Tracey

I'd like you to meet my bridesmaid, Miss Tracey!!

*Note - I am going to introduce you to each maid now in the order that I met them...
Makes for an easy way to decide who's next... haha!

Technically I've known Tracey longer than I've known my sister, Kayli... haha.
But only because Kayli wasn't born yet!

I met Miss Tracey after her parents moved down the road from my parents when we were just little tykes! She has been my longest (un-related) friend!!

Tracey, Me and RyRy
We shared a seat on the school bus, went to church activities together, then later Tracey drove me to school after she got her license (she's 1 year and 2 months older).
We played basketball, volleyball and ran track together.
We spent long hours swinging on the swings at our town park and just chatting!!

I LOVE this lady! And now I LOVE her two little boys!!
Ryan and Kaden

Just an FYI:
I'm going to go ahead and take the credit for suggesting Kaden's name...
'Cause I did... and I'm awesome like that... haha.

Little mister Ryan will be one of the ring bearer's at the wedding.
(Kaden will only be 3 months old..)

Tracey, Mr. M and Me
Tracey lives in North Dakota now with her little family... And I miss her ALL the time!!
We stay in touch through facebook and the phone...
Thankfully she sends me pictures of her little guys so I don't have to miss them growing up!!

And I AM so excited for her to come home for the wedding!!!
