A Wedding Announcement & Some Little Pretties

As of last night, we decided to move our wedding date out from
June 18th to July 9th
because of the Wallow Fire

Map of the Wallow Fire as of June 9, 2011. Source.
For those that don't know, our wedding is planned for Alpine, Arizona.
Right, smack dab in the middle of the Wallow Fire chaos.
We debated on moving it to a different location and going ahead with it, but when it comes down to it, postponing it is our best option.
This way it will be a fun filled, low-stress, easier for everyone to come day.
Exactly what we want.
And it will be good for the area once their recovery efforts start for people to keep visiting and supporting the local economy!!!

So.. This morning I have been working on getting the word out.
Please friends, keep the White Mountain and surrounding areas in your prayers.
People have lost their homes. Pray for them. Please.
My parents live in a small community (my hometown) that is STILL on pre-evacuation notice. They could be asked to leave the home where I grew up at anytime.
So again, please pray for those affected and for the AMAZING fire fighters that are missing their families and enduring LONG days to fight this fire.

In the meantime... On a happier, lighter note...
Because happiness is what we all need a little bit of right now!
:)
Some little Pretties!!!

During my hometown bridal shower, I got to try on my wedding dress again for the final time before the big day!! So as not to ruin the surprise or stir up any bad luck and all that, no wedding dress pictures until after the wedding!!

BUT there were some pretty little misses who were quite excited to try on my veil.
Every little girl dreams of a beautiful wedding!!
And these little ones got a fun tryout! :)
So for a wedding sneak peak...
My wedding veil on three of my four lovely little flower girls!!! :)

wow! My thoughts are with your family and everyone affected, that is such a tragedy. Good for you for staying calm and being rational during this time. It's still super close, and will give you just enough time to finish up those nasty little last minute details and be relaxxxed for your big day. I can't wait to see your dressss!

You've got my prayers Kassi. I'm sure everything will be wonderful - hey, maybe the delay will be a blessed one~!

Aw Kassi, I am so sorry that this had to happen, but glad that you are ok. And in the long run, this will just work out better. More time to tie up all loose ends. So enjoy your time until then, and I will keep all of those affected in my thoughts :)

We are on alert for the Wallow Fire. And we have our own wildfire on the other side of our post too. Ugh. One thing I hate about the desert. I hope they get it under control soon. This is the third we've been on alert for since the end of April and the last one was less then a mile from our house.

Oh girl, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out in the end, even better than you had hoped for. You are so sweet to want to do it there even after all this. I wish you all the best Kassi, I know that with your beautiful heart, your wedding will be incredible.

Praying for all those effected so far, and your family especially.

Hugs, Bella :)

Definitely praying. HOWEVER that means there is some reason for you to be married then - but at least it's still on it's way! Can't wait to read all about it :D

You are so amazing for pushing out your date so you can still keep the venue in an area that will definitely be needing some support. Wow, I am totally impressed. No Bridezilla for you : )

!!!!!!! Kass, I am glad that you made the decision to move the wedding back a couple of weeks. Not only will it keep ya'll safe, but now you have a few extra weeks to get things DONE so you aren't a stressed Chiquita the week of.

PS I tried to comment on your other blog and Blogger wouldn't let me, so I'll do it here. Thanks so much for explaining PinInterest to me. I made an account over the winter but I basically just used it to search for pretty images, I didn't use it to 'pin'. Great, not I have another obsession lol!!

I'm so sorry you had to postpone the wedding, but it is what you think is best, so that's all that matters! I was just telling my husband the other day about your situation. I know we have talked some through emails about the fire and everything... I am so sorry you're having to deal with all of this and the stress it's caused. I think a July wedding sounds absolutely perfect! Keep up the positive outlook and know your wedding will be so wonderful.. no matter when it is! :)

If it makes you feel any better -- I had such a scare with the shuttle launch the weekend of my wedding. The president and everyone was coming out, 6000 something people! It was going to be a nightmare traffic wise, and all the hotels booked up. To me, that was a stressful situation at the time. But you know what, it all worked out... the shuttle was postponed and everything just fell into place! God is good!

Cute pics of the little one's in your veil! Super cute! Glad you had a nice time!
