Tights Please Shapewear Review

After my review of the Bridal Tights from Tights Please, I could not wait to try out the shapewear that they sent me to review!!!
The shapewear that I received are All in One Body Slimmer control pants from Trinny & Susannah!
I chose the skin color, shown here with the Charnos Bridal Tights I also reviewed.

I have never tried any kind of control pants or shapewear before, so I wasn't sure what to expect...

Again, the shapewear, much like the Bridal Tights, looked funny coming out of the package... :)
And when I started to slip it on, I was thinking, yeah right, this isn't going to happen...
But really you just step in and pull it up, then pull the straps over your shoulders.

Photobucket

Right away you can fill it suck in, as they put it, your tum, bum and thighs!!

Photobucket

I tried on my clingy wrap dress over the shapewear to see if you could see the lines underneath, because they claim a seamless look... And it is seamless! You couldn't seen any lines underneath my dress.

Photobucket
See! No panty lines! :)
I do think it would take some getting used to, if you were to wear it often, but it wasn't uncomfortable.
You did, however, have the feeling of being cinched in, so to speak.
I liked that the top part was left open so that I didn't feel like my chest was held down.
I think that would've felt claustrophobic. Since it was open up top though, you can breath freely and don't feel like something is holding your air in!

If you have a clingy wedding dress, rehearsal dress, or just summer dress that you want to feel more comfortable in, I would recommend trying the Tights Please shapewear!
The control pants did make me feel more sleek and shapely in my dress for sure!

Thanks to Tights Please for allowing me to review their Trinny & Susannah shapewear!
If you have questions about my review or thoughts on the product, please feel free to leave them in the comments section or shoot me an email!

AND I HAVE A FUN ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Tights Please has asked me to host a tights giveaway so that a
LUCKY My Road to Mrs reader can try out some fun tights as well!!!

So stay tuned for that coming soon!!!!

Until then, happy shopping friends!!!

P.S. My first Bridal Shower is TOMORROW!!!!
I bought a CUTE outfit yesterday that I will be sharing with you next week, as well as the shower recap, and my thoughts on the historic Royal Wedding this morning!

*I was not monetarily compensated for this review! All I received was the shapewear from Tights Please. All opinions and thoughts shared in this post are my own.

Product Review: Tights Please Hold Up Bridal Tights

Yesterday I mentioned that I had some FUN product reviews coming up...
Well, today I would like to share with you:

As a wedding blog, Tights Please graciously invited me to review some of their Bridal Tights!
I was thrilled for the opportunity of course!!!

They have several different kinds to choose from in an array of different colors!

I chose the Charnos Bridal Satin Hold Ups  in the Champagne Leg color with an Ivory Top.

Click To Close

When they arrived and I opened them up, Mr. M was confused...
"What are those!?!" he'd said!
I can't blame him, of course...
Because this is what they look like right out of the package.

Photobucket

At first, I too thought they looked pretty funny... :)

As you can see here, they are topped with Ivory ElasTac silicone to keep them held up on your leg. The silicone was slightly stuck together when I first tried them on, but it makes sense... It has to be a little sticky for them to "Hold Up".

Photobucket

They were SUPER easy to get on!
You just slip them on your legs, up to your thigh and you're ready to go!
Not like with normal panty hose that you have to pull up to your neck! ;)
Like I said, the silicone on top helps them stay on, so you can walk about, sit down, etc. without losing your tights!!

Photobucket

The tights made my legs look sleek and feel soft!
Mr. M was quite impressed with how silky they felt on my legs!

Photobucket

They were actually quite comfortable, even!
I was concerned that the tops would be a bother, but when you get them on and straightened out, you hardly notice them at all.

One thing I should mention was that the silicone top was easily bunched up when I first pulled them on and it took a minute or so to get both tops straightened and flattened out.
But really, that's an easy trade off for hiking panty hose all the way up!

Photobucket

Overall I was impressed with the Bridal Tights from Tights Please and would highly recommend them if your planning on wearing tights on your wedding day!

Here you can see they really added a level of class to my simple skirt outfit that bare legs just don't have!

Photobucket

Thanks to Tights Please for allowing me to review this item for them!
Hope you enjoyed my review and that it'll help in your choice of bridal tights!

And thanks to Mr. M for taking pictures for my post! :)

Happy shopping friends!

A Few Things to Share

Happy Monday lovely friends!!

Thank you all for the Anniversary well wishes!!!
What a LOVELY group of readers I have here at My Road to Mrs!!!

We enjoyed our anniversary/Easter weekend very much!!
There was LOTS of family!
Lots of Easter candy, a visit to our new house with the in-law side, a FUN western themed birthday party, and LOTS of good times!!!

Today, I have a few EXCITING things to share!!

1. My first bridal shower is this coming Saturday!!! SO EXCITED!!!

2. On Friday I went with my bridesmaid, Meghan Jo and registered at a little boutique here in town.

They have a fun bridal registration program there...
How it works:
I went in on Friday and chose some fun items to have on my registry.
They take those items and save them in a back room throughout the week before my shower. Shower guests have all week to go in and purchase those items.
If at least FIVE items are purchased, I can go in the Monday after my shower and receive 15% off any of the remaining registry items!!!

You can read all about it here on their blog.

Some of the items that I registered for...
(All photos borrowed from Sorella's Blog or Facebook page.)

This LOVELY pink dress with a different white belt.
*Right now I'm wishing I had registered for that white purse as well... ;)

This fun brown vest!!

A cute pink tank top!

I also registered for some CUTE jewelry, a few other tops, some shorts, etc...
It was a blast!!! Thanks to the girls at Sorella's for their help!

And if you're in the Safford area, be sure to go check out their shop!!
They have some AWESOME items there!!!

3. I was recently approached by the marketing department at Tights Please to review some of their fun items!!!
They sent me some of their bridal tights to review, as well as some of their shapewear!!

SO watch for those two review posts this week!!

Until then... have a great week friends!!!

ANNIVERSARY

Today is our ONE YEAR Engage-iversary
AND
Our FIVE YEAR Anniversary!!

Us, back in the day... haha... Our first picture together! :)
I don't know if I mentioned it before or not... but we started dating in college...
A time and a place where dates are going to parties... BBQs... hanging out at someone else's house... Not your traditional dinner and a movie dating.
That said, honestly, I don't know what date we started dating.
I remember our first kiss vividly.
I know exactly where we were. I remember the jacket he was wearing.
But the date? Nah...
The date we use, April 22, 2006, was the date we first said I love you. Steep right...
But come on, it's the ONLY date I can remember exactly.
Does that make me a discrace to woman kind...? haha. Oh well.

Working cows - 2006
In five+ years we have come so far.
We are less than two months from being husband and wife.
We both graduated with Bachelor degrees from college, I also received my Masters.
We have two dogs together! And I won't lie to you... they're pretty much treated like kids.

Penny and Pandy
I bought my first vehicle, that he helped me pick out.
We've lived in three different places together and just purchased our very own house!
We've lost two of the most important people in our lives.
My Granny and his mom and helped each other make it through those losses.

Mr. M, Me, and Granny 2010
We've seen several friends get married, several friends break up.
Worked in numerous jobs. Attended several funerals.
Welcomed a few new family members.
Went to Vegas, SO many times. To South Padre. To Oklahoma. Laughlin.
Ropings all over!

Snorkeling in South Padre, Texas - September 2010
I can go on and on... but the point is, we did it together. All of it.
And I couldn't imagine going at it with anyone else.

Happy Anniversary Mr. M. I love you.

2 Months To Go and a Feature!

Hello sweet friends!!!

***
Guess what???
Yesterday marked the 2 months til the Big Day point for us!!

Things we've done and have going on at this point are:
* Invitations are almost ready to be sent out. I know, you're supposed to send at 3 months, but we sent Save the Dates at about 4, so it seemed too soon for invites.
* My sister-in-law is working on finding shirts for our ushers to match our guest book/present girl dresses.
*Little turquoise western shirts have been ordered/come in for our ring bearers
*ALL the bridesmaid dresses are in! Working on shoes and accessories.
*Right in the middle of my fourth rope vase! Decided to do rope vases and oil lamps so I won't need to make SO MANY vases...
*Currently looking for shirts for the groom and groomsmen. Groom has YET to ask the remainder of his wedding party... He's a shy guy about that stuff... It's hard for him.
*Bridal shower planned for April 30th with a Party Girls (dirty party) to follow!
SO EXCITED!!!
*My rehearsal dinner dress is in and shoes have been shipped. I'll share those with you soon!
*Lingerie party planned for May 14th!!! Also excited to see all my college friends!!!

AND in OTHER NEWS!!!

WE CLOSED ON OUR HOUSE YESTERDAY!!!
There are a few fixes that need to be done, which are already scheduled for the rest of this week... Then we will most likely start moving in over this coming Easter weekend.
It'll be the perfect time since lots of family will be here for the holiday... heehee.

AND IN MORE OTHER NEWS!!!

My Road to Mrs is featured on the AMAZING Oh Darling Bride blog today!!!

Oh Darling Bride

If you haven't checked out Monique's blog... Go. Now's a good time.
She's a South African sweetheart and a new wife!!!

And I share some fun info about me and Mr. M there today! :)

Have a lovely week friends!!!

Meet My Maids - Charli

Last, but certainly not least, allow me to introduce my final maid!!

Meet my bridesmaid, Charli!!!

Charli - Photo taken by her aunt.

Miss Charli and I met during my Junior year of college, I believe.
She is the most recent lady of all my maids to become my good friend.
But I love her all the more for it! :)

Charli & Kassi - Christmas Party 2009
We met when she dated a friend of Mr. M's.
I remember the first time I saw her even.... We were going to some party at somebody's house and rode there with Mr. M's friend... As we were looking for somewhere to park...
This bubbly little blonde lovely came bounding up to the pickup! :)

Kassi and Charli - South Point, Las Vegas Nevada 2009
Miss Charli!

Since that time, we have gone through lots!!! Let's just say that our guys, Mr. M and her's at the time, are a lot alike... and chose to stick together, like college boys do...
So Charli and I spent alot of time venting to each other! haha

Kassi & Charli - Summer 2010 (Yes, that's a Bud Light in the picture... Don't judge... haha)
We were roommates while I finished my last semester of graduate school and had THE BEST time!!! We had Arbor Mist Wednesdays.... Holiday parties, and over all just lots of fun times!
Our little doggies are even best friends!!!

Penny and Pandy in the back (mine) and Daisy in front (Charli's)
So glad we're besties and even more glad she'll be there with us for our special day and all the days before and after!! :)

P.S. TODAY IS 2 MONTHS til the BIG day!!! Stay tuned for my 2 Month update post in a day or so! :)

Lunch with the Cake Lady

Remember I mentioned sometime back that my mom's friend has volunteered to make our cakes for our wedding gift?! SCORE, right?!?

Well... I have lunch with her today to talk about what we want and what she can do...

I've shared some cake inspiration before, but my idea of what I want has evolved some.
She asked that I bring a few pictures of what I want/like, so I made up a little print out to take with me...

Thought I'd share it with you all here first... haha!

So here it is, the REAL inspiration for our wedding cake and grooms cake.
All pictures gathered from various online sources. Sources can be found on my Wedding Cakes Pinboard on Pinterest
  • Top left is our wedding cake topper, Cherished Statuette
  • Top right is the groom's cake topper, befitting a team roper :)
  • Middle left, I LOVE the clean square tiers and turquoise ribbon
  • Middle right, I LOVE the texture on that one... Would want white icing though
  • Bottom left, the rope piping would be good for the grooms cake
  • Bottom middle, team roping grooms cake
  • Bottom right, our wedding colors, just in case

The only stipulations Mr. M has as far as cake goes is that his favorite is white cake with white icing. Or maybe even lemon cake with white icing.
He DOES not like chocolate cake or chocolate icing... So no traditional chocolate grooms cake for him...
    But that's ok. :)
He won't be coming to the lunch, because he's working today... And he doesn't really care to go... haha. But that's ok too!

    So, what do you think?
Surprised out how my cake inspiration evolved from this to this post?

I'm SUPER excited to meet with her today and talk wedding cake!

    Have a lovely day friends!

Meet My Maids - Megan

Remember I said I have TWO Meg's in the wedding party??

Well...

Meet My Bridesmaid Megan!!!

Me and Megan - Another friend's wedding May 2010
Not to be confused with Meghan Jo.
Megan and I technically knew each other our freshman year of college.
But we didn't really become friends until NAMA (late in our sophomore year)!!!
That's right... ANOTHER college friend.
But really... I think some of your best friends are made in college.
Mine were. Obviously. :)

Kassi and Megan 2008
We were both in the Ag college at the time, and members of the club.
If memory serves me right, we became really good friends over the NAMA National competition in Dallas, Texas.
We had the BEST time putting together goodie bags for the other schools.

Kassi and Megan - Christmas Party 2009
Megan is one of the SWEETEST people that I know.
And she has gone out of her way, ever since I've known her to befriend and include Mr. M as well. During one of the hardest times in our life, the loss of a VERY CLOSE loved one, she drove 3.5 hours to bring a package of bottled water and cookies to us...
And just visit for awhile.

Megan's family are also some of the nicest people I know.
Her sister Sara is also a very good friend!!!
And Meg is good friends with my family as well! She's been to my hometime on a couple of occasions, and fits right in with our crazyness!! :)

Kassi and Megan - Sara's Bachelorette Party September 2009

Meg is one of those people that you won't talk to for weeks, then all the sudden pick up the phone and carry on as if no time has passed!!!

Megan, me and my family at my Granny's 89th Birthday Party
I love this lady lots!!! And I'm so glad, that she is a part of my and Mr. M's life and our wedding day!!

Wedding Planning Update

Hello lovely friends!!!

If you haven't already, go here to get entered in the Truly Lovely Week of Giveaways going on!!! There's some fun stuff up for grabs!!!

Truly Lovely

In the meantime...

Here are a few things that we've accomplished over this last week!!

  • I shared the link where the mommas of the ring bearers can purchase their boys' shirts for the wedding day. We decided on these turquoise western shirts from Rods.com. They'll wear these, blue jeans and cowboy boots.
  • Thanks to the father of the bride, we have our officiant all lined up! We are both LDS so we will be having an LDS bishop officiate. We'd been debating on asking Mr. M's bishop from his home ward, or the Stake President from his stake, or the bishop from my home ward. And thanks to my awesome dad, who called and asked for us, we will have the bishop from my home ward officiating for us!
  • I have e-mailed guest lists to two bridesmaids. One for a Lingerie Party in my college town in May!!! YAY!!! And one for a bridal shower in Mr. M's home town on April 30th! YAY!!! I'm so, so excited about those!! AND a HUGE thanks to the girls' for throwing them for me in advance!!!
  • My AMAZING mother found a friend that coincidentally makes wedding cakes who's offered to make ours for our wedding gift!!! THANKS MOM and the FRIEND!!!
So, I need to call her (the friend) to talk about what we'd like now! :)
  • I have the "packaging" for my girls' gifts ALMOST finished!! I'm stalled right now because I ran out of ribbon and they were out at the store... So until I can get some more, that one will wait... But SO CLOSE!
  • Speaking of their gifts... The BIG part of those is almost finished as well... All I have left are the finishing touches on the last two! :) AND my sweet, sweet friend Bethani offered to make up some sample tags for their gifts, and give them to me for a wedding present!!! Can't wait to see what she comes up with!!! THANKS GIRL!!! :)
Go here, check out her stuff!! She's AWESOME!!!

    Photobucket
  •  Remember I mentioned a boot announcement on Wednesday? Well I've decided to wear boots under my wedding dress! Cowboy boots! And I think I've found THE ones! What better excuse to get NEW boots, right? I'll share those soon!

Well... That was a lot... Enough for now anyway. haha!!
How's wedding planning coming for all my soon to be married readers?
Any wedding planning tips anyone wants to share at this stage in the game?? :)
What shoes did you or will you wear for your wedding day??

I'm still planning a wedding advice linky where you write up an advice post on marriage, relationships, etc. Link it up here and at Truly Lovely and I'll feature some! :)
So watch for that to come soon!

Til then, have a lovely Friday friends!!
