A Wedding Announcement & Some Little Pretties

As of last night, we decided to move our wedding date out from 

June 18th to July 9th 

because of the Wallow Fire.

For those that don't know, our wedding is planned for Alpine, Arizona. 

Right, smack dab in the middle of the Wallow Fire chaos. 

We debated on moving it to a different location and going ahead with it, but when it comes down to it, postponing it is our best option. 

This way it will be a fun filled, low-stress, easier for everyone to come day.

Exactly what we want. 

And it will be good for the area once their recovery efforts start for people to keep visiting and supporting the local economy!!!

So.. This morning I have been working on getting the word out. 

Please friends, keep the White Mountain and surrounding areas in your prayers. 
People have lost their homes. Pray for them. Please.

My parents live in a small community (my hometown) that is STILL on pre-evacuation notice. They could be asked to leave the home where I grew up at anytime.

So again, please pray for those affected and for the AMAZING fire fighters that are missing their families and enduring LONG days to fight this fire. 

In the meantime... On a happier, lighter note...
Because happiness is what we all need a little bit of right now!

Some little Pretties!!!

During my hometown bridal shower, I got to try on my wedding dress again for the final time before the big day!! So as not to ruin the surprise or stir up any bad luck and all that, no wedding dress pictures until after the wedding!!

BUT there were some pretty little misses who were quite excited to try on my veil. 

Every little girl dreams of a beautiful wedding!!

And these little ones got a fun tryout! :)

Bridal Shower Recap - Lovely Ladies & Food

My first bridal shower was SO MUCH FUN!!!

It was hosted by my bridesmaid, Meghan Jo and sister-in-law, Brianne!

They set up tables and chairs on Meghan's front porch...

It was the nicest day to sit outside and enjoy the lovely afternoon!!!

I had the best time getting to see most of my bridesmaids and spend time with friends and family!

Thanks ladies!!! 

And EVERYONE was dressed SO cute!!!

There were more than a few mentions of stealing Charli's dress... ;)

 My bridal shower hostesses did the BEST job!!!

As well as all the ladies that helped out by bringing food and what not!!!

 Speaking of food... CHECK OUT this food/dessert table!!

Meg made THREE types of cupcakes! Chocolate mint, margarita (with a salted rim even!) and pineapple upside down cake!! I LOVED all three... But in the end I think the pineapple upside down cake were my favorite... (I ate leftovers for breakfast for two days! ;)

 There were sandwiches, chips and dip, a CHOCOLATE fountain with fruit and marshmallows to dip in! Veggie platters and dip, tortilla roll ups, an assortment of sweets!!! 

It was all SO delicious!!

I only went back several a few times throughout the day for more goodies... ;)

 Little Miss Corryn (our neice and one of the flower girls) enjoyed herself too!! 

Her favorite parts were the candy in the guest favors :) which where cute little boxes of candy that read, "Sweet Times - Kassi's Shower 4/30/2011" 

And the water fountain on Meghan's porch! :)

Flower Girl Rope Baskets

This last weekend, my AWESOME sister-in-law to be, Arina volunteered to make the flower girl baskets for the wedding!!!

When I say volunteered...

What I really mean is I tried conning her into making some rope vases...

Which in all honestly are the MOST time consuming, TEDIOUS job in my wedding planning...

And although she graciously, and understandably, declined,

she started right away on the job of flower girl rope baskets!!

By the time they went home on Sunday, she had one almost finished and enough old ropes loaded in the back of their truck to make the other three and then some!

Such a HUGE help! And they look adorable!

I can't wait for our girls to carry them in the wedding!

(Well, HER girls too! Two of them are Arina's daughters, Ada and Abby!)

While she was there and working on the baskets, it forced me to sit down and finish another rope vase. So... that makes three.

Um... Is it time yet to start panicking that I won't have enough...

I'm going to say no and charge on!!! I work best under pressure anyway! haha!

Flower Girl Dresses

I am SO excited!!! We marked a huge item off the to-do list as of today!

We have FOUR flower girls!

(And FOUR ring bearers actually...)

So getting that item done feels like a HUGE accomplishment.

You won't believe where I found them!!!

Good ol' Wal-Mart!

I stumbled by their Easter/Spring dress section getting groceries awhile back...

And there it was.

It was practically the dress I had dreamed up in my mind.

I wanted a light, pretty, cotton sundress.

In pink, the perfect shade of pink.

With some sort of cute little cover up.

Done! Thank you Wal-Mart!

And you know how most flower girl dresses cost upwards of $50...

These dresses cost $16.50!!!

Yep... Can't beat good ol' Wally World... haha...

What can I say, I'm thrifty!

And finally... the last plus...

My flower girls range in age (remember there are FOUR) from 2 years old to 9 years old...

And Wal-Mart had sizes to fit them all! :)

I couldn't be happier!
