We decided to do a first look BEFORE the ceremony.
Over the summer prior we had attended a few weddings, and even one since, where the guests were left for hours (yes plural) to just wait around while the wedding party was taking photos.
I get it. Wedding party photos are important. But really, hours?
We did not want that.
And let me just say... At the wedding we went to since ours where that happened...
Mr. M was THAT much more grateful we did ours the way we did...
Ok, off my soapbox! haha.
I distinctively remember holding up the skirt on my wedding dress, plowing through the tall grass, boots on mind you, and walking down the hill to an open field for the first real glance of my hubs to be on our wedding day. He and our photographer had gone down before me and I could see them in the distance as I made my way down.
Literally and figuratively walking towards my future.
And there he was. My Mr. M.
Almost there.
And then...
Hello baby! :)
We're not a mushy couple. There were no tears shed. We smiled. We laughed. We hugged.
Again, life was great!!!
We did our first look before the ceremony, too, and it worked out perfectly! My (now) husband even cried, and I was grinning so hard my cheeks hurt. After that, I was like, let's get this so on the road! When does the honeymoon start? :)
ReplyDeleteAw very sweet, I bet it was special to have that moment just the two of you.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't change our day for anything, but I was a basket full of nerves leading up to when I saw my husband on our wedding day. I think it may have calmed me a little if I was able to see him a little beforehand. Although, I loved the surprise of seeing him as I walked down the aisle. :)
Can't view your pics here at work, but I'll try back again later! :)
Oh my gosh i love this! :D that would be me and my husband lol
ReplyDeleteThese photos are perfect. You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this is so cute. Girly you'd better get this sequence of photos framed for your kids. So adorable.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. We did the same thing and I'm so glad we did. No mush here, either. He told me about his bad hair day, we smiled, laughed and hugged. Chris & photographer went to the river first and I walked down later. Longest walk of my life. Did you feel the same?
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I agree with the pics before, they can be so time consuming after! But this whole 'first look' thing is new to me. I had just heard about it this summer. I like it though!
ReplyDeleteawww these photos belong in a magazine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! The last photo is my favorite...simply adorable! :)
ReplyDeletei really need to get my wedding photos updated.
ReplyDeletethe hubs and i didnt see each other beforehand and it had been over 24 hours since we had seen each other.. talk about a bawlfest when i walked down the aisle. we were like two blubbering fools up there. quite funny when i look back at it.
These are just perfect! We didn't do a first look..but sometimes I SO wish we had pictures like this :)
