We've booked our DJ!!! Another check on the checklist!
Book your reception band or DJ, sign the reception music contract, and send a deposit.
Yet again, we were lucky that our photographer, Karen of Treehouse Photography, just so happens to be married to a DJ. :) Who we've heard does an excellent job!
So friends, say hello to Frank of Amplified Attitude Mobile DJ/PA!!!
We'll have primarily country music played during our reception, as well as a few requests that we plan to list for Frank before hand... (add another item unchecked to the checklist....)
Now to decide on a few special song selections. I really think I'd like to do the traditional dances, like first dance, father/daughter dance etc... But I don't know exactly the dances we'll do, or the songs will choose.
We will definitely be playing, "Why Don't We Just Dance" by Josh Turner! Super fun song!!!
Oh yeah.... we have to include the Dollar Dance!!
At my friend's wedding, they did the dollar dance, where guests "pay" to dance with the bride or groom. It was way fun!
Any suggestions on dances to incorporate?
Or special songs to have played??
cute! cute! I love the idea of the dollar dance. I went to a wedding where the couple did that and came out with quite a bit of spending cash.
ReplyDelete1) Awesome! I love being able to check things off the list
ReplyDelete2) TheKnot checklist stresses me out, just as much as it helps me.
3) Your photos are gorgeous!
4) I added you to my "Bridal Blogs" blogroll :)
I love the dollar dance idea. It’s sounds like fun : )
ReplyDeleteThe dollar dance is traditional around here and we did it at our wedding. We each held a bag and danced a polka for 2 songs - a long line formed for each of us and we spent our wedding night counting the dollars that we used as spending money on our honeymoon!
ReplyDeleteA great DJ makes such a difference, what an exciting time for you!
we did the dollar dance, lets just say i made 5X the amount as the hubby. haha. i also really like the married couples dance and wish i had done it at my wedding. you have all the married couples get on the dance floor. the DJ will say a time and guest who have been married that long get off the floor. (usually starts at 6 hours, then goes to a month, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years etc...) then the couple who has been married the longest gets a special treat (usually a centerpiece or the bouquet if you are not tossing it). older couples really love this and it makes them feel good and you learn how long they have been married.
ReplyDeleteMorgen!! They did that one at a friends wedding that I've seen also!!! I LOVE that idea!!! At my friends wedding, the last couple left got a special something and then they were asked to give the couple marriage advice over the mike! Too cute right!!
ReplyDeleteLove reading your plans darlin'!
